Computer-Based Careers Dominate Best Entry-Level Jobs Ranking

WESTCHESTER COUNTY, N.Y. -- Young adults looking to start his or her professional career on the right foot should look to work in the information technology field, according to a recent survey by WalletHub. 

Six of the top 10 entry-level careers were in the IT field.

Six of the top 10 entry-level jobs were IT related in Wallet Hub's survey that took into account three major metrics: Immediate opportunities, Growth potential and Occupational hardship. 

The top entry-level job was a training specialist, due to its high immediate availability, good potential for upward movement and low on-the-job hazards. 

Other careers in the top 10 included: Web Applications Developer, Network Engineer, Attorney, Environmental Engineer, Software Engineer, Web Designer, Information Security Analyst, Financial Analyst and Programmer. 

The bottom 10 entry-level careers were: Floor Assembler, Sheet Metal Mechanic, Refinery Operator, Consumer Loan Servicing Clerk, Claims Processing Clerk, Boilermaker, Electronics Assembler, Policy Processing Clerk, Building Inspector and Welder.
