Stone Fire Restaurant, which describes itself as "a neighborhood restaurant serving neo-Italian cuisine with a modern twist," hopes to open this weekend so stay tuned to Facebook. Its mantra: "Italian Eats, Urban Drinks."
The menu, reads its "About" section, is diverse and offers "the freshest and highest quality seasonal ingredients available."
Among the items on the menu: "Nonne Polpette," Grandma’s chicken meatballs, marinara, shaved Reggiano, Truffle Mac and Cheese, Roasted Cauliflower Caesar Salad, Deconstructed Lasagna, Short Rib Gemelli, Cedar Roasted Norwegian Salmon and plenty of wood-fired Neapolitan pizzas and fresh pasta (made daily).
As for decor, expect a rustic ambience accentuated by reclaimed wood tables, upcycled lighting fixtures, copper bar, bare brick walls and, as its name proclaims, a wood-fired brick oven.
The restaurant is at 251 Lexington Ave., 914-864-1888, www.stonefireny.com/.
