A full 16 residents will be studying at the hospital this year under the New York Medical College's program with Phelps.
"We have taken a huge step forward making Phelps into a teaching hospital," Phelps President and CEO Keith F. Safian said. "There is enormous and strong support for our residency programs, and we want you to know that everyone is rooting for you.”
New residents include Thomas Chattathil, MD; Stephania Hasan, MD; Molly Kilpatrick, MD; Julia Krim, DO; Carmen Tamayo, MD; Jessica Zaks, MD; Benjamin Geisler, DMD; Christiane Getaz, DDS; Jeannine Holz, DDS; and Roselin Reiss, DMD.
Family medicine residents train at the Open Door Medical Center in Sleepy Hollow, while dental residents train at the Open Door Medical Center in Port Chester. More than 125 Phelps physicians have volunteered to serve as faculty with the residency program.
"What an achievement!” family medicine program director Dr. Shantie Harkisoon said. “Creating these residencies has truly been a great team effort, and the entire Phelps community can be very proud of what we have all accomplished."
