White Plains Mayor Tom Roach and George Oros, chief of staff to Westchester County Executive Rob Astorino, welcomed the new restaurant at 126 E. Post Road during a ribbon-cutting ceremony.
"I want to thank you for your significant investment,'' Roach said. "The food is fantastic."
Three Westchester natives with a love of food, family, and friends opened the eatery on Feb 29. KEE represents the owners' first names -- Kenan "Kenny" Neziraj from Yonkers, Elvi Hoxhaj from Pleasantville and Ekrem "Eddie" Xhemaijli from New Rochelle.
"I appreciate everyone's support,'' Hoxhaj said.
The idea was born with a desire to bring New York's oyster history back to life with a thematic focus on the Prohibition era.
The trio has worked in New York City restaurants almost their entire lives; each comes from hard-working immigrant families who came to the U.S. to live the American dream.
Diners will find an extensive raw bar where a shucker is stationed all day, along with fresh seafood brought in daily from New York City's fish market.
Desserts are house-made and cocktails such as the Uptown Manhattan, Ultimate Fresh Cosmo, Gold Rush, Pomegranate Martini and Espumante Mojito are inventive.
