It's the busiest time of the year for Yon Zweibon.

Zweibon is the owner of Beyond Costumes at 530 Nepperhan Avenue Yonkers, believed to be one of the oldest costume shops in Westchester. Zweibon has been helping people have memorable Halloweens since she bought the store on a whim 19 years ago.

The 20,000-square-foot store dresses people from all over the tri-state area and its costumes have appeared on many TV shows and stage projections. Last year, Madonna got her Halloween costumes at the store -- she went as a clown, while her children went as an astronaut, Donald Trump, and a werewolf.

Zweibon said longtime customers often reserve costumes in the summertime, but Halloween can be a last minute holiday.

"The last week is when people start going crazy," Zweibon said.

"People often come in the Saturday before."

This year, superhero costumes remain popular with many women and girls going as Wonder Woman. Game of Thrones has also been a hit this year, with people going as dragons and dragon queens. Expect to see many folks dressed up as Pennywise, the killer clown from "It", Zweibon said.

She credits the popularity of "Hamilton," with people wanting to dress up like someone from the 1700s.

"Halloween is a big party," Zweibon said.

"Everyone wants to dress up and look good for their friends."

Zweibon said she gets more adults than children and that customers come from all over the tri-state area, especially New York City, which she says lacks an adequate costume shop.

Emigrating from Korea at 14, Zweibon originally went to the Wharton School of Business. But she grew tired of that world and when her kids got into theater, she found herself at a costume shop.

"I bought it within three months," Zweibon said.
