Fuji Film Participates In Employee Volunteer Day In Valhalla

MOUNT PLEASANT, N.Y. -- For the 13th year in a row, employees of FUJI Film Holdings America Corporation rolled up their sleeves in the spirit of volunteerism during its Adopt-a-Park employee volunteer day on Wednesday at Kensico Dam Plaza in Valhalla.

“Fujifilm is one of the great friends to Westchester and its parks,” said County Executive Robert P. Astorino. “Our parks are a special gem and the Fujifilm volunteers make them shine even more.”

Deputy County Executive Kevin J. Plunkett and FUJIFILM Holdings America Corporation president Shig Sano joined the employees at the Kensico Dam Plaza to thank them for their work.

Plunkett thanked Friends of Westchester County Parks for its active role in enhancing the parks, specifically by forging public/private partnerships through the county’s Adopt-A-Park program.

The volunteers spruced up garden beds and polish the plaques surrounding The Rising, Westchester County’s September 11th memorial, in preparation for the county’s annual public remembrance ceremony planned for 7 p.m. the following evening.

Fujifilm was the first business to partner with Westchester County in the Adopt-a-Park stewardship program, with a team of employee volunteers planting an entrance garden at Kensico in 2002.

Kensico Dam Plaza is at the north end of the Bronx River Parkway in Valhalla.
