Greenwich Gala to Benefit Affordable Housing

Fairfield County residents will be dressed to the nines Saturday, March 5, to support Habitat for Humanity of Coastal Fairfield County. The organization will partner with Betteridge Jewelers for Habitat’s 12th annual Hearts and Hammers Gala at the Greenwich Hyatt Regency. The event will include bidding on jewelry and other auction items.

One of the auction pieces will be a seed pearl tassel necklace with carved black onyx donated by Betteridge and one of its newest designers, Ivanka Trump Fine Jewelry. Terry Betteridge, founder of the Greenwich-based firm, will be auctioneer. Come out for a cocktail hour, dining, dancing and the chance to bid.

“Betteridge’s is pleased to support Habitat for Humanity -- an organization which does so much for Fairfield County,”  Betteridge said in a statement. “It is phenomenal to see what Habitat is able to provide to our communities in the way of affordable housing.”

Betteridge and Habitat are working together for the first time to help the organization’s mission to engage local communities in creating homeownership opportunities in partnership with low-income families. Monies raised at the gala will go toward Habitat’s operating fund, 86 percent of which includes building programs and family educational services.

Tickets and sponsorship opportunities are available by contacting Habitat at (203) 333-2642.

What do you think of Habitat’s mission? Will you attend this county-wide fund-raiser?
