Bridge Work To Close Fairfield's Cornell Road

FAIRFIELD, Conn. – Cornell Road in Fairfield will be closed to through traffic because of bridge work starting Tuesday, Oct. 9.

The town will begin replacing the deck on the Cornell Road Bridge on Tuesday. Work is scheduled to finish in late December or early January.

As work is being done, Cornell Road will be closed to car and pedestrian traffic, except for local cars leading up to the bridge work. Detour signs will send cars on an alternate route. The town also reminds residents that Brooklawn Country Club is private property and will not be open to pedestrians during construction.

Anyone who has any questions, comments or concerns can contact Town Engineer William Hurley at 203-256-3015, or Public Works Director Joseph Michelangelo at 203-256-3010. The town will post updates on its website periodically until the work is finished.
