John Fanelli will direct the Westchester Broadway Theatre's production of "Godspell." Fanelli has directed SOS productions of "Big River," "Peter Pan" and "Ragtime."

"Godspell" is based on the Gospel according to St. Matthew and focuses on the last days of Jesus. It dramatizes several well-known parables interspersed with modern musical numbers.

"Godspell" is the first musical theater offering from three-time Grammy and Academy Award winner Stephen Schwartz. Since its original opening Off-Broadway in 1971 and on Broadway in 1976, "Godspell" has been played in various touring companies and was revived on Broadway in 2011.

The cast of "Godspell" includes Gilbert D. Sanchez as Jesus and Xander Chauncey as Judas.
