Memorial Day Events Continue Across Westchester

WESTCHESTER COUNTY, N.Y. -- Memorial Day festivities continue this weekend in various Westchester towns.

May 30 Mamaroneck: The American Legion Post 90 Memorial Day Parade starts at 10 a.m. at Mamaroneck Avenue School, continuing to the Veteran's Memorial on Prospect Avenue. At 1:30 p.m. there will be a memorial service at the Kemper Memorial honoring Mamaroneck students who died while serving in World War II.

Mount Kisco: The parade line up starts at 3:45 p.m. at the Veterans Memorial between the cemeteries on Lexington Ave. and end at Village Hall, where a memorial ceremony will be conducted by Moses Taylor Post #136 American Legion. In the event of rain the ceremony will be held at the American Legion building at 4:15 pm.

Yonkers: Parade starts at 1 p.m. with a ceremony at Stillwell Park on McLean Avenue and heads to the Charles Bajart American Legion Post No. 1122. 

May 30 and 31 Somers: A tribute to the end of World War II takes place May 30 and 31 at Lasdon Park, Arboretum and Veterans Memorial where you'll find a collection of vintage military vehicles, military memorabilia, big band music, an exhibit on the impact of World War II and food served in an authentic mess tent. Guests are encouraged to dress in period clothing. $20 per vehicle; admission is free for veterans. The event runs 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday and from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday.
