Memorial Day Weekend Events in Mount Pleasant

VALHALLA, N.Y. – A floorworks deluxe course, town pool opening day and Memorial Day ceremonies highlight this holiday weekend in Mount Pleasant.

Friday, May 25

Floorworks Deluxe Course: 9:30 a.m.  The Mount Pleasant Community Center will host a regular floorworks deluxe course Friday morning with instructor Margaret Cunzio.  Entrance fee is $3.  125 Lozza Drive, Valhalla.

Saturday, May 26

Town-Pool Opening Day: 10 a.m. – 6 p.m.  The Mount Pleasant town pool will open Saturday for the summer season.  A new digital photo identification pool pass is required to gain adittance starting on May 29.  Entrance over Memorial Day weekend is free. 125 Lozza Drive, Valhalla.

Sunday, May 27

Farmer’s Market: 1 p.m. – 4 p.m.  The Stone Barns Center will host a farmer’s market at its location in Pocantico Hills on Sunday. Fresh fruit, vegetables, and other goods will be on sale. Prices vary. 630 Bedford Road, Pocantico Hills.

Monday, May 28

Valhalla American Legion Memorial Day Parade: 9:30 a.m. The Valhalla American Legion will hold a Memorial Day parade that will begin on Westlake Drive behind the Valhalla United Methodist Church. The parade will gather at the Valhalla gazebo at approximately 10:30 a.m. and will end at the legion post for refreshments.  (Approximate starting point) 200 Columbus Ave., Valhalla.

Hawthorne & Thornwood American Legion Memorial Day Parade: 11 a.m.  The Thornwood and Hawthorne American Legions will co-sponsor a Memorial Day ceremony at the Thornwood monuments off Commerce Street. The group will march back to the post at 52 Garrigan Ave. in Thornwood for refreshments.  Commerce Street, Thornwood.
