The 10th Annual Pleasantville Music Festival will be held on Saturday, July 12, at noon, at Parkway Field. This year, acts on the two stages include Ian Hunter and the Rant Band, Amy Helm and the Handsome Strangers, Augustana and Scars on 45.

The music festival also has an expanded beer and wine garden, along with 40 vendors and not for profits. The weather is expected to be in the 80s with a zero percent chance of precipitation.

Sol Skolnick, executive director of the Pleasantville Music Festival said it gives visitors a chance to see how enjoyable it is to live in Pleasantville.

"You get to see some of the shops and it makes people want to come back later," Skolnick said. "It introduces people who might not come through Pleasantville."

Skolnick said they get people from all over the Northeast and people also are coming from Ohio to catch one of their favorite bands. Skolnick said he is happy the festival has made it to ten years.

"We had this vision of being able  to host a festival featuring national acts and acts from the Hudson Valley," Skolnick said. "This has grown into an event that people throughout the county are aware of and travel to. I just enjoy the whole flow of the show."

Westchester acts performing at the festival include Spuyten Duyvil, a band from Yonkers that plays roots music, Jessica Lynn, a rising country star from Yorktown and the Blues Mothers, a group of professional musicians raising their families in Scarsdale.

There is no parking on site, patrons are recommended to park at Pace University for free and take a shuttle. The festival is also 1 1/2 blocks from Pleasantville's Metro-North Station.
