Theater Group Performs Broadway Songs In Thornwood

THORNWOOD, N.Y. -- Mount Pleasant Community Theatre will present "45 Minutes to Broadway A Musical Revue," Thursday, July 21 through Sunday, July 24, in the John Whearty Theater at Westlake High School in Thornwood. 

The revue consists of 50-plus beloved songs from shows presented over the past 46 years since the theatre's founding.

The revue consists of 50-plus beloved songs from shows presented over the past 46 years since the theater's founding. Shows represented in the revue include "Fiddler on the Roof," "Annie," "Music Man," "West Side Story,"" Oklahoma," "A Chorus Line," "42nd Street," "Guys and Dolls," "Funny Girl," "Mame," "Godspell,"" Showboat" and "Singing in the Rain."

The revue, performed by more than 40 cast members, is directed and choreographed by Rose Cremonese-Norton.

Tickets are $22 for adults and $18 for students/seniors; tickets can be ordered online at www.mpctshows.com.

The show times will be as follows: 7:30 p.m., Thursday; 8 p.m., Friday and Saturday; and 2 p.m. on Sunday.

Mount Pleasant Community Theater was founded in the summer of 1970 by Cremonese-Norton, owner of Rose’s School of Dance in Hawthorne. Support has been provided by the community, including the Mount Pleasant Recreation Department and the Thornwood/Hawthorne Chamber of Commerce.
