The tree lighting will be held at the county park on Friday, Nov. 27, at 6 p.m. Gates open at 5 p.m. for the free event.

The second-year event includes a range of activities for people of all ages. Children can enjoy The Santa Experience, where they meet the jovial, jolly St. Nick. The park will also offer unlimited rides, a chance to stroll down Candy Cane Lane and unlimited ice skating at RangersTown Rink. There will also be dancing lights choreographed to holiday music.

Adults will also enjoy food and shopping. Wood-fired pizza, hot dogs, farm-to-table and barbecue food will be among the options. Shoppers will find soaps, sauces, jewelry and food and cooking items.

As local real estate brokers in Westchester, Lou and Debra Budetti, owners and founders of ERA Insite Realty Services with offices in White Plains, Thornwood and Bronxville, recognize the value of bringing an event like this to the area.

"Westchester continues to add more and more attractions for its residents, which is great for the economy and quality of life here. It used to be that you had to go into New York City for something like this, but now it's right here in our backyard," Ms. Budetti said.

The park will be open to the public during the day, but will close at 4 p.m. on event days. Hours for Winter Wonderland are 5-10 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays and 5-9 p.m. on Sundays and weekdays. Winter Wonderland runs through Jan. 3, 2016. Click here for the complete calendar.

Tickets are all inclusive, and include ice skating, skate rentals, visits with Santa and characters, entertainment and rides. Tickets are $15, and the event is free for children 5-and-under. Group discounts are also available. Tickets can be purchased at the event. Click here for ticket information.

Young skaters can participate in the Wonderland’s Try Hockey for Free on Friday, Nov. 27 from 3-4 p.m. The session includes an introductory on-ice lesson with professional instruction, free rental skates and loaner equipment. Children ages 4-10 can also visit and get autographs from alumni of the New York Rangers. The session is limited to 40 children, and pre-registration is required.
