Croton's Blue Pig Is Finalist In DVlicious Ice Cream Contest

CROTON-ON-HUDSON, N.Y. -- From simple vanilla to gourmet caramel combinations to the invasion of the Oreo  -- is anything better on a hot day than the cool swirl of ice cream?

Classic, traditional options, along with newfangled flavors, can be found in all corners of Westchester with a number of versions served a variety of ways (hello whipped cream, fudge, sprinkles and waffle cones).

What Makes the Ice Cream Special: "We do everything from scratch. We use locally sourced milk with no steroids, no hormones and no antibiotics," explained Owner Lisa Moir.

Number of Favors: 16, all homemade.

Most Popular: Aztec Hot Chocolate Chip Chipotle Pepper along with local fruit flavors using real fruit. Vanilla malted brownie is also popular.
