The building at the corner of Routes 35 and 100 in Somers (with a Katonah address) is over 100 years old, with the restaurant opening in the 1920's, according to current restaurant Manager Arber Muriqi.

Bedford's Robert Epstein took over the restaurant two years ago, and has worked hard to keep the food high quality, and to maintain the unique character of the building.

"We've tried to keep the charm of the place," Muriqi told Daily Voice. "It's old, comfortable and homey. We get customers who's grandparents came here...

"Our mission is to keep the food really good, and affordable, which is so important," he added. "We also have a partnership with Amato Farms, so everything is farm fresh, which people love."

Muscoot specializes in American food with an Italian influence, according to Muriqi. Specials change regularly.

Muscoot Tavern is located at 105 Somerstown Turnpike, Katonah.
