As part of the charity's annual food drive, Lifting Up Westchester is seeking donations to help families enjoy a warm, home-cooked meal regardless of their current financial status. To help make this happen, the support network is partnering with volunteer organizations throughout Westchester.
For the fifth year in a row, White Plains-based ERA Insite Realty will collect food at its three office locations across the county: Thornwood, White Plains and Bronxville. Donations will be accepted through Friday, Nov. 3 and will be delivered directly to the charity.
The office is seeking seasonal food items including canned vegetables, instant potatoes, macaroni and cheese, gravy mix, stuffing, canned cranberries, brownie or other dessert mixes and pies. There is also a need for grocery store gift cards, which can be used towards additional main courses or entrees. These cards allow individuals to purchase their family’s favorite holiday foods and carry on important seasonal traditions.
"Lifting Up Westchester’s number one holiday mission is to ensure that no one goes hungry on Thanksgiving, Christmas or New Year’s Day," said Debra Budetti, who with her husband, Lou, founded and own ERA Insite Realty. "We’re happy to do what we can to support their efforts in our communities, during the holidays and throughout the year."
Thanksgiving donations can be dropped off until Nov. 3 at ERA offices at 600 N. Broadway in White Plains, 635 Commerce St. in Thornwood and 120 Kraft Ave. in Bronxville. Donations can also be dropped off until Tuesday, Nov. 7 at Lifting Up Westchester on 35 Orchard St. in White Plains, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Christmas Donations will be accepted until Tuesday, Dec. 5.
