VALHALLA, N.Y. — As 2012 ends and 2013 begins, here is some quick information about what will be open and closed on New Year's around Mount Pleasant.  

• Mount Pleasant Town Hall and Pleasantville Village Hall will be open during regular hours on New Year's Eve. Both buildings will be closed on New Year's Day before reopening on Wednesday, Jan. 2. The police department in each building will remain open 24 hours a day.

• The Mount Pleasant Public Library in Pleasantville will hold modified hours on New Year's Eve, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. It will be closed New Year's Day. The branch in Valhalla will be open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on New Year's Eve and closed on New Year's Day.

• The Thornwood A&P and the Thornwood ShopRite will be open during regular hours on New Year's Eve and New Year's Day.

• For those wishing to see a movie, the Jacob Burns Center in Pleasantville and the Hawthorne Multiplex will be open on New Year's Eve and New Year's Day. The movie schedule for the Jacob Burns Center can be found here; click here for the Hawthorne Multiplex.

PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. - Angelo L. Muccin, most recently of Pleasantville, and formerly of Hawthorne,  died June 17. He was 92.
