Dobbs Ferry, Hastings Men Collaborate On New Film

DOBBS FERRY, N.Y. -- The members of the cast and crew assembled at New York’s Friars Club for a screening of a new comedy short, “Dante & Beatrice,” written and directed by veteran TV writer-producer and Dobbs Ferry resident David Steven Simon “The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air,” “Mad About You, “Full House,” “The Wayans Brothers” etc).

The cinematography, editing and co-production of the film was done by Hastings-on-Hudson resident Simon Feldman for The Wit Protection Program. The film is a tongue-in-cheek “mockumentary” whose comedic focus is "one hot young couple, two contentious families and one domestic war.” 

The film also features Joel Higgins, Tracy Brookes Swope, Bridget Avildsen, Larkin Bogan, Emily Ferrante and Terry Greiss.

The film screens Monday, Oct. 27, in Beverly Hills at The Aidkikoff Screening Room.

 Bogan and Ferrante can currently be seen in the Broadway production of “Wicked.” Cast member Jim Stanek can be seen in the Broadway production of “A Gentleman’s Guide to Love and Murder.”

Higgins, who has who has starred in numerous Broadway shows, is best-known for his role as the dad in the sitcom “Silver Spoons.”

Swope and cast member Stacy Nelkin have starred in numerous films and TV films and series. Bridget Avildsen is the daughter of director John Avildsen (“Rocky I,” “Joe” and “The Karate Kid”).
