Former Hawthorne Veteran Puntigam Honored Saturday

HAWTHORNE, N.Y. - A funeral service will be held on Saturday for former Hawthorne resident Philip V. Puntigam. Most recently of Wappinger Falls, N.Y., he died Oct. 20 at the age of 63.

Puntigam was born on Apr. 15, 1948 in White Plains to the late Joseph and June Puntigam. He served in the US Army from 1968 to 1970 during the Vietnam War. An avid sports enthusiast, his favorite team was the New York Yankees.

Surviving are his brother Drew L. Puntigam of Hawthorne, a brother-in-law, a niece and a nephew. Puntigam was predeceased by his sister Valerie Gordon in 2010.

Visiting will be from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Saturday at Hawthorne Funeral Home . The funeral mass will follow at 11 a.m. at Holy Rosary Church in Hawthorne. Interment will be private.
