Former Hawthorne Volunteer, Lovelett Dies at 89

HAWTHORNE, N.Y. – Janet M. Lovelett, a former volunteer at Rosary Hill Home in Hawthorne, died Nov. 4 surrounded by family at Lutheran Care Center in Poughkeepsie, N.Y. She was 89. 

She was born on Apr. 15, 1922 to the late Theordore J. Hartung and Hilda Gloetzner. Lovelett would volunteer at the Rosary Hill Home in Hawthorne and attended St. Joseph's Church in Millbrook, N.Y.

On May 17, 1941, she married Ulysses S. "Judson" Lovelett in Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church in White Plains. Lovelett resided in Millbrook, Cape Cod, Mass., New Fairfield, Conn. and Yorktown Heights. She was beloved by her family as a most generous and loving person.

She is survived by her daughters Donna and Greg Cambi of Wellfleet, Mass., Cheri and Les Leone of North Salem, Linda and Mike Duda of Fort Mill, S.C., Mary Lee and Chuck Dujardin of Wappingers Falls, N.Y. and Debbie and Ray McNally of Pomona, N.Y., her sons Jon and Marie Lovelett of Beacon, N.Y., Steven and Carole Lovelett of Averill Park, N.Y. and Tom and Valerie Lovelett of Stormville, N.Y., 21 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. Lovelett was predeceased by her husband on May 8, 1998. 

Calling hours are from 3 to 7 p.m. on Monday at McHoul Funeral Home in Hopewell Junction, N.Y. A funeral mass will be celebrated on Tuesday at 9:30 a.m. at St. Columba Church in Hopewell Junction, with her grandson Father Michael Cambi officiating. Interment will follow at Cold Spring Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to Rosary Hill Home, 600 Linda Avenue, Hawthorne, N.Y. 10594.
