THORNWOOD, N.Y. Joan D. Cuomo, a former Thornwood resident, died May 4. She was 76.
She was born Nov.18, 1935 to Edward and Loretta Guzowski Soboleski in New York City. Cuomo was most recently a resident of The Villages, Fla.
She was predeceased by her husband, Vincent J. Cuomo, in 2001. Cuomo is survived by two sons, Kenneth (Tracey) Cuomo, of Cortlandt Manor and Perry Cuomo, of Somers; a sister, Leona (David) Wheeler, of Fountain Valley, Calif.; and four grandchildren.
Visitation hours are from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. on Tuesday at Hawthorne Funeral Home. The funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Wednesday at Holy Rosary Church in Hawthorne. Burial will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Hawthorne.
