HAWTHORNE, N.Y. – Josephine B. Cattarrasa, 85, of Hawthorne died Wednesday, April 11, at Cabrini Nursing Home in Dobbs Ferry.
She was born Dec. 13, 1926, in New York City, to Joseph and Maria Ragusa Castro. Cattarrasa worked as a dental assistant at the practice of Dr. Walter Aronoff in Mount Vernon. She later became a legal secretary for Cattarrasa Law Firm in Yonkers.
Cattarrasa was predeceased by her husband, Michael L. Cattarrasa, in 1987; two brothers; and three sisters. She is survived by a daughter, Lenore M. Gabbamonte, and a son, Frank Cattarrasa, both of Hawthorne; and two grandchildren.
The family will receive visitors from 1 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, April 13, at Hawthorne Funeral Home. The funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday at Holy Rosary Church in Hawthorne. Burial will follow at Mount Calvary Cemetery in Greenburgh.
