VALHALLA, N.Y. Katherine Mercadante of Valhalla died May 23 at her residence. She was 89.
She was born Sept. 23, 1922, in the Bronx, N.Y., to Luigi and Rose Cerasoli Iannucci. Mercadante operated Budget Dry cleaners in the Bronx with her late husband, Felix. Before moving to Valhalla, she was a longtime resident of Yonkers.
Mercadante is survived by two sons, Sal Mercadante, of Mount Vernon, and Louis J. (Marie) Mercadante, of Hawthorne; two brothers, Vincent Iannucci, of Yonkers, and Albert Iannucci, of Washingtonville, N.Y.; and a grandson.
Visitation is from 4-8 p.m. Friday at Hawthorne Funeral Home. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday at Holy Name of Jesus Church in Valhalla. Burial will follow at Ferncliff Mausoleum in Hartsdale.
