PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. – Bert Ruiz, lead trustee of the Mount Pleasant Historical Society, will release the paperback book “Pleasantville (Images of America)" on April 8. The book is available for purchase online .
According to the book's description, the town has “a rich patriotic fabric woven with the arrival of the first tenant farmers and laborers during Dutch Manor rule.” The book details the attraction of “New York City professionals wanting an idyllic countryside” and also delves into the launch of Reader’s Digest and its founders, DeWitt and Lila Wallace.
Ruiz is also a trustee of the Westchester County Historical Society and the Good Counsel Academy. He is also commander of the Pleasantville Fancher Nicoll American Legion Post 77.
