Thornwood's Robert Fink Dies at 90

THORNWOOD, N.Y. - Robert W. Fink, of Thornwood, died March 13 at White Plains Hospital Center at the age of 90.

He was born Jan. 7, 1922 to the late Homer and Ruth Fink in Stamford, Conn. Fink served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and was a member of the Hawthorne American Legion Post 112.

A retired business operator with B. Wankel & Son Hardware in New York City, he enjoyed making wine, gardening, woodworking and filming homemade movies.

Fink is survived by his sons, Robert W. (Therese) Fink Jr. of Newark, Del. and Bernie (Jane) Fink of Thornwood; his daughter, Ruth (Joseph) Armisto of Carmel, N.Y.; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife, Elizabeth Fink in 2010; and his brother, Charles P. Fink.

Friends may visit family from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Friday at Hawthorne Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Interment will be private.
