VALHALLA, N.Y. - Rocco Imbesi, owner of Rocky's Barber Shop in Valhalla, died Nov. 6. He was 70.
A Port Chester resident, Imbesi was born on Sept. 6, 1941 in Scilia, Reggio Calabria, Italy to the late Mariano and Emilia Bellantoni Imbesi. Nicknamed "Rocky the Barber" and "Chico," he immigrated to the United States in 1961 and worked as a barber at Rocky's Barber Shop.
He is survived by his daughter Sheila (Thomas) Tardibuono of Danbury, Conn., his son Rocco (Corinne) Imbessi of LaGrangeville, N.Y., his brothers Domenico and Joseph Imbessi of Port Chester and five grandchildren. Imbesi was predeceased by his son Mariano and his sister Anna.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. on Friday at Craft Memorial Home in Port Chester. The funeral mass will take place at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday at Corpus Christi Church in Port Chester, followed by a committal service at Ferncliff Cemetery in Hartsdale.
