VALHALLA, N.Y. John J. Jack Donnelly Jr., a native of Valhalla, died March 30 with his family at his side. He was 79.
Donnelly, of Palisades, N.Y., worked his entire career at the New York Telephone Company.
Donnelly was born in Bronx, N.Y. on April 16, 1932 to John J. Donnelly and Rosalie Thonning Donnelly. He served in the US Navy and enjoyed veterans activities, playing sports, swimming and painting with oil and watercolor.
He is survived by his best friend and former wife, Diane Dunleavy Donnelly, his sister Margaret Ellis, a nephew and two nieces.
Visitation will be Tuesday, from 3 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at Wyman Fisher Funeral Home in Pearl River, N.Y. The funeral Mass will take place at 11 a.m. on Wednesday at St. Margaret's Roman Catholic Church in Pearl River. Burial will follow at Fred Loescher Veterans Cemetery in New Hempstead, N.Y.
