Weekend Events in Mount Pleasant

MOUNT PLEASANT, N.Y. – Children’s events at the local library, high school play performances and free wine tasting are some of the events planned for this weekend in Mount Pleasant.

Friday

- Toddler time and preschool story time at the Mount Pleasant Public Library, 10:15 a.m. to 11 a.m. Bring the kids to the Mount Pleasant Public Library in Pleasantville Friday morning for two story time sessions. Each session uses interactive methods to help increase a child’s interest in reading. Toddler time, best for children ages 1 to 2 1/2 begins at 10:15 a.m. and preschool story time begins at 11 a.m. Free to the public.

- “Beauty and the Beast” at the Pleasantville High School Auditorium, 7:30 p.m. This will be the final weekend that the musical will be performed at the high school.

Saturday

- Beekeeping for Newbies at Stone Barns Center, 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Learn the ins and outs of dealing with keeping bees, including what equipment to purchase, obtaining a queen and managing the hive. $10 for all adults.

- Wine tasting, 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Free at Prospero Winery on Marble Avenue in Pleasantville.

Sunday

- Hebrew School open house at Pleasantville Community Syangogue, 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. See what the school is all about. Meet Rabbi Mark Sameth and other members of the school. Open to all members and nonmembers.
