A 12-year-old boy was hit by a car in Northern Westchester on his way to school, receiving injuries to his head and scrapes and bruises, said Croton-on-Hudson police.
The boy was struck by Christopher Diorio, 28, of Hopewell Junction, just after 8:16 a.m., when the child stepped from between two cars into the path of the car at 119 Maple Street in Croton, in front of the Childrenspace, said Lt. John Nikitopoulos.
The child was struck by the car's mirror and thrown. He was taken by ambulance to a local hospital. The extent of his injuries are unknown, police said.
Diorio was not ticketed and the incident is still under investigation, Nikitopoulos said.
