522 Still Without Power Friday Morning

VALHALLA, N.Y. - More than 500 customers throughout Mount Pleasant still were without power as of Friday morning, 10 days after Hurricane Sandy ravaged the area. 

Con Edison said 522 of 8,783 Con Edison customers in Mount Pleasant, or 6 percent, were without power as of 9 a.m. Friday. Con Edison reports power would be restored by 11 p.m. Sunday.

A shelter is set up at Town Hall in Valhalla for residents without power and is available 24 hours a day. Food, water, electricity and heat is available. Pets are welcome.

Residents are encouraged to report power outages to Con Edison on a daily basis by calling 1-800-752-6633.
