PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. The 7-Eleven parking lot in Pleasantville was a little more full than usual on Monday.
That's because it was free Slurpee day to celebrate the convenience store's birthday on July 11. Free Slurpees in 7.11 ounce cups were given to customers in any flavor of their choice.
Kevin Kim, one of the part-time workers at the Pleasantville 7-Eleven, estimated that somewhere around 500 hundred people had come in throughout the day to claim their free chilled drink.
"It's probably good for the business because a lot of people have come in and gotten their free Slurpee and tried a flavor and then they end up buying one," Kim said.
According to Kim, the Coca-Cola and Alienade (a mixture of strawberry, raspberry and lemonade) flavors were the most popular throughout the day.
The promotion by 7-Eleven will run throughout the day at the 24-hour store while supplies last.
