WESTCHESTER COUNTY, N.Y. – The nation’s busiest rail division, the Northeast Corridor, has an aging infrastructure that is causing headaches for the 750,000 riders on Amtrak and other commuter rail lines, reports The New York Times.

Its aging tracks, power lines, bridges and tunnels are wearing out as the number of riders has doubled in the last 30 years, causing many to fear that conditions will only get worse in the future.
