Cops: Valhalla Assault Leads to Felony Charges

VALHALLA, N.Y. – A Valhalla man was arrested following a motor vehicle dispute that occurred on Monday afternoon on Wall Street in Valhalla, Mount Pleasant Police said. Lucicano Vurra, 58, was arrested and charged with second-degree assault, a felony.  Police said the dispute involved parked motorists and residents who live on Wall Street. Police also arrested a 43-year-old Valhalla man on charges of disorderly conduct, a violation.

In other blotter news:

Vehicle Dispute: During the early morning hours of April 13, police said they responded to a dispute on Warren Avenue in Thornwood. After an on-scene investigation, police said they arrested Glen Albanese, 45, of Thornwood. Albanese was charged with third-degree criminal mischief, a felony, and misdemeanor harassment. Police said Albanese damaged another resident’s vehicle during the dispute. 

Forged Parking Pass: Around 11 a.m. on Tuesday, April 18, police said a parking enforcement officer observed a vehicle parked in the Valhalla commuter lot with a counterfeit parking sticker. Police said further investigation led to the arrest of Michele Grieco, 27, of White Plains. Grieco was charged with criminal possession of a forged instrument, a felony. 

Criminal Mischief: Mount Pleasant Police arrested Christopher Pratteo, 21, of Staten Island, after police said he broke a window at an apartment complex on Stevens Avenue in Hawthorne shortly after 7 p.m. on April 12. Police Chief Louis Alagno said Pratteo was a former tenant of the building and attempted to enter the complex to retrieve items. Pratteo was charged with criminal mischief in the third-degree, a felony, and criminal mischief in the second-degree, a misdemeanor. 

Driving Under the Influence:  Mount Pleasant Police arrested Joseph Ponofrio, 29, of Thornwood, on misdemeanor charges of driving under the influence. Police said they observed Ponofrio’s Toyota Camry as a suspicious vehicle and a further roadside investigation led to his arrest.
