Gusty Winds, Downed Trees Cause Numerous Power Outages In Westchester

Numerous power outages have occurred in the Hudson Valley as a cold front accompanied by strong winds with gusts up to 50 miles per hour sweeps through Tuesday, with numerous reports of downed trees.

A total of 1,260 lost power in Putnam and about 350 in Northern Westchester at 10 a.m., according to NYSEG. Scattered outages have also occurred in Central and Southern Westchester, including Yonkers, New Rochelle, Larchmont, Mount Pleasant and North Castle.

More than 300 outages were reported in Orange and Rockland counties late in the morning, according to O & R, which expects restoration of power by 3 p.m. Tuesday.

Just a handful of outages have been reported in Dutchess, according to Central Hudson.
