MOUNT PLEASANT, N.Y. This weekend, Berger Hardware in Hawthorne will hope to do its best to help cure the sweet tooth of Mount Pleasant residents, but also cancer in victims across the country.
On Saturday, the hardware store will participate in a bake sale through the Cookies for Cancer organization. All money raised through the sale will be donated to the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. Also, the consumer product company Oxo will make a 100 percent match on all funds raised. Kitchen goods company Glad will also make a contribution of ten cents per each baked good sold.
Anyone interested in participating in the sale by donating a baked good should drop off their treats to Berger Hardware by 2 p.m. on Friday.
The sale will take place Saturday from 10 a.m. till 2 p.m. Children are also welcome at the sale as Santa Claus will be making an appearance for photo opportunities.
