The award is presented to a nonprofit that has made an important contribution to the growth of Westchester’s cultural life over a significant period of time, and has had an impact beyond its immediate community.

The ArtsWestchester’s 2016 Arts Awards Luncheon will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, April 8, at the DoubleTree Hotel in Tarrytown.

Historic Hudson Valley offers school programs, tours of five National Landmarks and large-scale, family-friendly events like "Lightscapes" -- HHV's newest spring blockbuster -- and The Great Jack O’Lantern Blaze.

Since 1976, ArtsWestchester has presented Arts Awards annually to individual artists, organizations, arts patrons and educators.

One of the first honorees – in 1977 – was Nelson D. Rockefeller, former vice president and New York governor, son of HHV founder, John D. Rockefeller Jr.

And in 2010, ArtsWestchester recognized Michael Natiello’s efforts as creative director of Historic Hudson Valley’s Halloween event, The Great Jack O’Lantern Blaze.

Natiello also plans, designs, and executes Lightscapes, which opens for its third season on April 29.
