VALHALLA, N.Y. – An Armonk-based charity recently collected 200 toys and organized an array of entertainers to provide some warm holiday wishes to patients at Maria Fareri Children’s Hospital.

Presented by Heavenly Productions Foundation, the holiday concert featured several musical and dance numbers from Irish singer and tin whistle player Dawn Doherty, guitarist John Walsh, The Ursuline School’s Meghan Hartson and Julia Longo, keyboardist Larry McGowan and Byram Hill High School dancer Arianna Tedesco, according to a statement from the charity.

Also in attendance at the Dec. 2 concert were the Westchester Knicks Dancers, who performed two dance routines and distributed New York Knicks mini-basketballs, New York Knicks bracelets and autographed Westchester Knicks Dancers posters.

The children were also visited by Santa Claus, who handed out presents donated by more than a dozen students and adults, and businesses like Pour Cafe and Wine Bar in Mount Kisco and Town Pharmacy in Armonk, according to the statement.

Alex Hartson, an Iona College student, donned the white beard and red coat to meet with the children in the hospital lobby and then toured the building’s several floors, organizers said.

Kristen Greto, a captain of the Westchester Knicks Dancers, said she and her team were honored to participate in the event.

“We hope we were able to brighten the day for the children and their families as much as they brightened (our) lives," she said.

According to the statement, Heavenly Productions board members and volunteers also attended the holiday party, agreeing that the event was “emotionally moving."
