Homeless Shelter In Valhalla Will Close

VALHALLA, N.Y. – The Valhalla Residence Shelter on the Grasslands complex will close, and its 18 residents will be relocated to other county-run shelters, lohud reports.

The center, which initially opened during the 1980s as a facility for people living with AIDS, now houses individuals and childless couples, some of whom have various medical needs, according to the report.

Some lawmakers on the Westchester County Board of Legislators expressed anger at the center’s decision and claim residents were not given enough notice.
