WESTCHESTER COUNTY, N.Y. -- The National Weather Service has issued an advisory for an increased risk of brush fires for Westchester through Thursday afternoon.

The combination of low relative humidity and increasing southerly air flow will create conditions favorable for the rapid spread of brush fires, the weather service said.

Fortunately, most larger sources of fuel are still to moist to present further risk.

Thursday should remain sunny and warm, with temperatures rising above the 60-degree mark.

Risk for brush fires will diminish as the relative humidity increases throughout the area Thursday evening.

Clouds and rain will roll into Westchester County on Friday, with a high temperature of about 61 degrees.

Chance of precipitation during the day is 40 percent with showers likely after 8 p.m.

Saturday will see showers clearing in the morning with a high of 67 degrees.

Clouds will return to Westchester County on Sunday with temperatures remaining in the high 60s.
