MOUNT PLEASANT, N.Y. Eric Cironei has owned his liquor store in the Thornwood shopping center for more than 20 years.
Cironei moved his business, which was previously known as St. George Liquors, a couple stores down in the shopping center in April and changed the name to Rosehill Wine & Liquors.
"We just made the move so we can offer more of a selection to our customers," Cironei said. "Our space is almost doubled,"
According to Cironei, the previous location did not offer enough space to carry s much stock as he would like. Now that the location is bigger, Rosehill can offer better prices with a larger selection.
The brand-new location features spotless hardwood floors with shelves of various liquors and wines spread out through the spacious store.
With the additional space, Cironei said he hopes to have more promotional events such as weekly wine tastings to attract customers.
Since St. George Liquors was located in the Thornwood Shopping center for a long time, the short-distance move within the center will likely not cause any issues, Cironei said. Yet he believes only time will tell how beneficial the move was.
"We're still not fully there yet," Cironei said. "We're fully opened but we still have to move some stuff around and it usually takes a full year to get the cycle going to see how it goes,"
The previous location of Cironei's store will soon be occupied by a martial arts center.
