BEDFORD, N.Y. -- The family of Mary Richardson Kennedy has taken court action against Robert F. Kennedy Jr., according to papers filed Thursday.

Robert Kennedy Jr. has made funeral arrangements for his estranged wife, who committed suicide Wednesday, for Saturday in Bedford, according to Kennedy's publicists, Sunshine Sachs, and for burial near Hyannisport, Mass.

Because the Kennedys’ divorce was not final at the time of Mary Kennedy’s death, Robert Kennedy Jr. is the legal next of kin and has custody of her remains.

The law firm representing the Richardson family had no comment Friday morning.
