The Missing Adult Alert for a Town of Poughkeepsie man has been canceled.

The 87-year-old was located him during a traffic stop. He is safe, authorities said Wednesday night.

The New York State Public Safety Department issued an Active Missing Adult Alert for an 87-year-old man with dementia who has gone missing in the Hudson Valley and may be headed to New York City.

Donald Klein was last seen on Carnelli Court in the Town of Poughkeepsie at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 27. He was driving a 2000 beige Toyota Camry with New York registration CGE-5280. 

He was last seen wearing a blue flannel pajama shirt, blue pants and a black and grey jacket. He is white, 5-foot-10, 185 pounds with gray hair and blue eyes.

He may be traveling to the Brooklyn area, authorities said.
