Missing Westchester Man Found Safe

The alert activated earlier Sunday afternoon for a 77-year-old White Plains man has been canceled.

Eric Martins has returned home on his own and is safe, the New York Department of Public Safety reported in a 3:15 p.m. announcement.

A New York Department of Public Safety Active Missing Person Alert has been issued related to the disappearance of a 77-year-old White Plains man.

Eric Martins was last seen at 10:15 a.m. on Sunday, July 2. 

The 5-foot-10, 195-pound Martins, who has gray hair and brown eyes, was in the area of Renaissance Square in White Plains, and wearing khaki cargo shorts, a blue polo shirt, and black sneakers, authorities said. He has Alzheimer's disease and may be in need of medical attention.

Anyone who has seen him should call (914) 422-6111 or 911.

The alert covers the Hudson Valley and all of New York City.
