MOUNT PLEASANT, N.Y. The Mount Pleasant Police Department reported multiple crimes this week occurring in the area. Here is a list of those appearing in the police blotter.
On October 4, a resident on Hardscrabble Road in Briarcliff Manor reported a burglary took place at her home and an estimated $50,000 in jewelry was stolen. The woman left the residence at 9 a.m. on October 3 and returned around 7 p.m. She remained on the first floor of the home. At around 11 p.m., the resident moved to the second floor of the home and discovered that a disturbance had occurred on the floor and jewelry was stolen. No arrests have been made.
On October 5, a 50-year-old Thornwood male on Virginia Lane was arrested and charged with menacing in the second degree, a Class A misdemeanor. The resident displayed a 38-calibur revolver at a civil process server in a threatening manner after the individual attempted to serve civil papers. The Mount Pleasant Police Department was unable to provide the male's name.
The Mount Pleasant Police Department concluded a month-long investigation which led to two arrests of Pleasantville minors on October 5. The two individuals have been charged with aggravated harassment, a hate crime. The individuals targeted a Jewish family because of their religion. They are scheduled to appear in the Mount Pleasant Justice Court on October 6.
