The funeral was held at St. James Episcopal Church, a prominent institution in town.
Once the funeral concluded, Colley's casket was placed in a hearse, which was driven up June Road to a nearby cemetery for a burial service. Mourners followed soon after with a procession on foot, where they walked along the road en route to the cemetery.
Colley, a prominent socialite whose husband is a large McDonald's franchisee, was found dead in her house's laundry room on Monday afternoon. Police suspect that Colley's death was a homicide and announced that she died due to blunt-force trauma. The investigation is ongoing.
The church is located at the intersection of Titicus Road (Route 116) and June Road. It is a short drive from Colley's bucolic estate, which is called Windswept Farm.
State police and town police were posted at the intersection to guide traffic.
