Mppd Police Blotter: Assault, Reckless Driving

Mount Pleasant police officers made a highway patrol stop on Route 117 after two vehicles appeared to be drag racing at high speeds down Phelps Way recently. Paul Cristifano, 21, of Elmsford was arrested and charged with reckless driving, a misdemeanor offense. Cristifano was also cited for speeding, failure to signal, making unsafe lane changes and failure to comply with an officer, all moving highway violations. It is unknown how fast Cristifano was traveling when we was stopped last Thursday.

On June 19th, at approximately 7:50 p.m., Mount Pleasant police officers responded to an assault call at 383 Elwood Avenue in Hawthorne. After arriving at the scene, police arrested Brian McIntyre, 50 of Hawthorne. McIntyre was charged him with harassment in the second degree, a violation, and criminal mischief in the third degree, a class E felony. McIntyre allegedly assaulted the victim, 56 of Hawthorne, by shoving them into a vehicle, causing minor injuries to the victim and damages to the vehicle.

On June 20th, a Thornwood resident reported a street-facing mailbox being stolen from their property. The resident claims that during the hours of the night, the mailbox and post were removed from the ground. No arrest has been made.
