The fire was reported shortly after 1 p.m., Westchester County police said. One lane was reopened around 1:50 p.m.
According to the New York State Department of Transportation, the right lane and shoulder of the parkway near Farragut Avenue had been closed.
Hastings resident George Skrelja said he saw smoke and snapped a quick photo as emergency personnel responded.
"I able to take a quick picture while authorities were responding as I was heading toward Hastings on Jackson Ave.,” Skrelja said via Facebook "I noticed the smoke and knew something had happened on the Saw Mill."
