Built between the early 1940s and the 1960s, the collection contains works documenting the evolution of modernism in the visual arts of North America. It features pieces by Milton Avery, Romare Bearden, Alexander Calder and more. It also contains materials related to Roy R. Neuberger’s life and work as a collector.

“Mr. Neuberger was one of the 20th century’s most important collectors of contemporary art and this collection is one of the best of its kind,” said Tracy Fitzpatrick, the exhibit’s chief curator.

The museum has also published its first scholarly study of fifty of the most significant works of American modernist art in the Roy R. Neuberger Collection.

“The Roy R. Neuberger Collection reveals the passionate interests of one of the twentieth century’s most important collectors of contemporary art, “said Fitzpatrick.

The museum is at 735 Anderson Hill Road in Purchase, N.Y.

Admission is $5 for the general public and $3 for seniors. Admission is free for Museum members; children aged 12 and under; and Purchase College students, faculty, and staff.
