"The Town of New Castle finds that certain Mandates promulgated by the State of New York impose significant financial restrictions on the Town of New Castle, which translate into decreased local services to Town residents," Greenstein said in a statement. "Town Board wishes to explore options for obtaining relief from such Mandates. This committee will be charged with the task of identifying means for obtaining relief from New York State Mandates."
The Town Board voted to appoint members to the committee at its July 22 meeting, the supervisor noted. The members, who have 3-year terms, are Judy McGrath as chair, Neil Skolnick, Enid Leikin, Warren Gottlieb and James McCauley as an alternate.
